For the Zephyr Mk4, Origin Live has created a tonearm of extraordinary value. In the pursuit of the best possible performance for the price, no detail has been overlooked. Rather than a single breakthrough, the arm incorporates refinements throughout, in the tube, bearings, side bias, yoke and cabling. The result is uncommon transparency, with tight, deep bass and a neutral character that never fails to convey the beauty of analog playback.
“It is easy to forget just how beautiful acoustic instruments can be in their sonority. The Zephyr captures that euphony without falsification. It offers a sonic feast for the ear.”
~ Paul Szabady, Stereo Times
Aircraft alloy arm tube. Reduces resonance, enabling your cartridge to perform at its best.
High-grade yoke. Carefully chosen materials and precision tolerances for the bearings result in a tonearm that “gets out of the way” and delivers superb tonal balance.
Custom bearings. Purpose built to Origin Live’s specifications.
High strength rear stub. This improves counterweight stability and resists vibration – enabling the arm to hold the cartridge more steadily.
Falling weight side bias. Compared to many other approaches, this classic anti-skate design reduces friction, reduces resonance and increases stability.
Internal Litz wire. Origin Live’s high-grade copper Litz wire is cryogenically frozen to reduce discontinuities in the conductors.
6-mm diameter external cable. This low resistance, 1-metre cable provides high conductivity and features gold-plated RCA plugs.
Integral vertical tracking angle adjustment. Provided by a threaded nut above the arm-board and a clamping nut beneath.
